-
Are you insured and bonded?Yes, YK Sitter is proud to be insured and bonded for your and your pets safety and peace of mind through Economical Insurance.

What time do the sitters make their rounds and how long do they stay?Sitters can visit clients' homes up to 4 times per day: “Morning” = between 7 & 10a. “Mid Day” = between 11:30 & 3p. “Evening” = between 4:30p & 7:30p. “Goodnight” = between 8 & 10p. Overnight Stays are a minimum of 12-14hrs (evening to morning care). Additional time is at your pet sitters choice and enjoyment. **If your pet needs specific times for medications or special diets please let us know and give details in your pets profile so we may accommodate.** No longer than 12 hours will ever go in between visits. For example, if your pooch was visited at 8pm, the sitter would arrive to your home no later than 8am the following morning. We offer 15-minute, 30-minute and 60-minute visits. The client chooses the duration of the visits and can mix and match to design the best plan for his or her pet. Note: The 15-minute visit option is not offered to clients who will be out of town and have not booked two 30 or 60 minute visits. 15 minutes is not enough time to visit with a pup that has been on their own for an extended period of time because this visit is meant to be a potty break, not a walk or individual visit.

What happens if a client’s primary sitter is not available for a pet sitting request? Our sitter roster is full of excellent pet sitters that would love to care for your pet if your primary sitter is unavailable. Since we have all pet care information stored in our secure database, we do not need to schedule an additional consultation. If you would feel more comfortable with your pet meeting the alternate sitter before service, we can accomodate a second consultation. The cost of this consultation is $30, which covers the sitter’s time and expense for driving over to the client’s home.
-
What happens if my pet becomes ill and I'm out of town or unable to leave work?If we suspect that something is wrong with your pet, we will call you at the emergency phone numbers we have on file. If you want a vet to look at your pet, we will transport them to the veterinarian’s office for examination and treatment. In the event we cannot reach you, we will decide if the veterinarian should see your pet. If necessary, we will take your pet for treatment. You will be billed for any extra time we spend for these services.

Will you provide a “house check” service even if I don't have a pet?Of course! We have many no-pet clients who use YK Sitter to visit their homes while they travel. This gives them peace of mind that their home is safe and sound while they are out of town.
-
Do you offer boarding in your home or at a boarding facility? At this time, we only offer boarding in your home, as pets are more likely to thrive and be less stressed while in the comfort of their own routine and home. :) If you're wanting overnight care, we do have pet care providers who can remain at your home overnight!
-
After I complete the Initial Consultation, can I schedule service anytime?"Absolutely! Once the consult is complete and you're happy to move forward, you can use your client portal to schedule service, check your personal service calendar, update your billing information, and receive visit reports! All scheduling requests are confirmed during our regular business hours, which are 9a-5p Monday through Friday.
-
Do you accomodate last-minute requests? We’re more than happy to schedule pet care for last-minute needs; however, we cannot guarantee that a sitter is going to be available on short notice. Services booked with less than 24hr notice have a late notice surcharge of $10 to compensate for same day scheduling efforts. We schedule services during our regular business hours (9a-5p Monday through Friday).
-
Do you care for pets that have aggression issues? If your pet has aggressively bit someone in the past, we cannot provide service. However, if your pet is skittish and maybe just growls around those he doesn’t know, then we will be happy to work with you and schedule a consult to see if a pet care plan can be designed. If additional visits are necessary to socialize the pet with our pet sitter, then the client needs to be present at all visits and pay the normal service fee until socialized. If at any time our pet sitter or pet owner feels that it is unsafe to perform a service, we reserve the right to discontinue service without notice.
-
Can you adminster medication?Absolutely! Your sitter can administer pills, ointments, drops, and certain injections as long as it’s a process you have been doing yourself and your pet is cooperative. We do not administer medication to any difficult animals that pose a danger to themselves.
